From the corner
Social Club Etiquette in Tenerife: How to Be a Good Guest
Membership is a relationship, not a receipt
You join an association of adults who decided to share a house. That means your purchase gets you considered — the door still decides, and the door is staffed by people who have to live with the consequences. Walk in like a guest who wants to be asked back and you'll be treated like one.
ID and presence
Always have ID, always be 18+. If a club asks to verify you, that's the system working, not bureaucracy. Beyond that, be present: the corner is social. Tenerife clubs gossip less than they observe, and what the staff remember is whether you were good company, not what you bought.
The three hard rules
One — consumption stays inside the club, never in the street. Two — personal use only, and never pass anything to someone outside the association; that single gesture has sunk more clubs than anything else. Three — no one under 18, ever, no exceptions, no 'he's with me'. Break these and you're not just rude, you're dangerous to the house.
Neighbours and discretion
A private club's biggest vulnerability is the people coming and going. Keep voices down outside, don't linger on the doorstep, and never give neighbours a reason to notice. The association tolerates the scene; the scene should be invisible to everyone else.
Leave it better than you found it
Ask before you assume, thank the staff, respect other members' privacy, and no photos without asking. Clubs are hospitality businesses wearing association clothes — treat them like places people built to be proud of, and you'll always have somewhere to sit in Tenerife.
The best way to understand is to visit.
