Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Last updated: 5 September 2026

What this policy covers

This page explains the cookies, local storage and website functions used on greencorner.vercel.app, why we use them, and what "Accept" and "Reject" on our consent banner mean. The house keeps things lean: no advertising, no trackers by default, and analytics only with your consent.

The consent banner

On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Accepting turns on anonymised analytics (below). Rejecting keeps strictly-necessary functions only — checkout, your member pass and referral codes all keep working.

Your choice is stored in browser local storage (key: cc-consent), not a tracking cookie. Change it any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.

Strictly necessary cookies & storage

gc_ref — the referral cookie set by a member's share link, so their welcome perk is credited when you buy. It's cleared once the purchase flow completes or is abandoned.

Session cookie — used by the small admin/PR dashboards for logging in and verifying member passes. Absent on public pages.

gc-age-ok — local storage recording your 18+ confirmation so the age gate only asks once.

cc-consent — local storage recording whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies.

Stripe checkout cookies — set by Stripe's own payment pages to run the checkout session. They're Stripe's cookies, governed by Stripe's privacy policy; we never read them.

Website functions these enable

These storage entries power the core functions of the site: recording your visit-card purchase, issuing your member pass and 1-of-1 Member Idol collectible, crediting referral welcome perks, verifying passes at the door, keeping the age gate polite, and remembering your consent choice.

Analytics (optional)

If you click Accept we load Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation and advertising features disabled. It counts visits and page views in aggregate so we can see which pages are useful. No analytics script is loaded or transmitted before you accept; if you click Reject, none loads at all.

How to control cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and site data under their privacy-and-security settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop the membership purchase, pass or referral functions from working.

To withdraw a consent you already gave, clear this site's data in your browser — the banner will then ask again.
